AWARD OF BIOTECHNOLOGY NATIONAL ASSOCIATESHIP TO SCIENTISTS

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals working in any of the North-Eastern States of India for the award of Biotechnology National Associateship (2012-2013) under the special programme for the Northeast for conducting research or training in National Institutions / research laboratories in different areas of biotechnology such as (i) agriculture, food and feed biotechnology; (ii) animal biotechnology; (iii) aquaculture and marine biotechnology; (iv) food and nutrition; (v) environmental biotechnology and Bioresource (vi) industrial biotechnology : materials biotechnology, reaction and process design; (vii) medical biotechnology; (viii) nano – biotechnology and bioengineering; (ix) bioinformatics and IT-enabled biotechnology; (x) intellectual property and patent law.

Women IPR Training in Biotech

“Women Scientists Scheme (WOS-C)” on IPR, a scheme of Department of Science & Technology, Government of India for the women scientists is being implemented by Patent Facilitating Centre (PFC) of Technology Information, Forecasting and Asserty Rights (IPR) and their management for a period of one year and eventually develop a pool of women scientists geared up in creating, protecting and managing intellectual property in India.

Selection & Training Procedure: Selection will be through an all India written examination and interview. Training will include one to two months of intensive orientation programme on IPR at New Delhi. The candidates will be placed as interns in and around the Coordination Centres at Delhi, Pune, Chennai, and Kharagpur for hands-on-training.

The ‘Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award’ (IYBA) was instituted by the Department of Biotechnology in the year 2005, as an attractive, career-oriented scheme to identify and nurture outstanding young scientists with innovative ideas and desire to pursue research in frontier areas of biotechnology. For the year 2011 awards the department invites applications from the young investigators upto the age of 35 years.
