What is exam sechdule for GATE 2018?

Candidates can fill the application form through online mode from website. GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test Examination) online registration was started in 1 September 2017. Candidates can register for the exam till 9 October 2017. There was no other mode to get application forms. Corrections in gender category, PWD status was done till 28 October 2017. Candidates were able to change the examination cent re by during 13 to 17 November 2017.

After a few month of registration the exam conducting authority will release the admit card for  exam. Candidates can download the examination admit card from 4 January 2018. The admit card has been issued through on line mode. The examination will be organized through on line mode 3,4,10 and 11 Feb 2018. The examination will take place in two shifts, as in forenoon 9:00am to 12:00pm noon and in afternoon 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Candidates can check their result within a month of commencement of exam. The result will be declared on 17th March 2018. After the announcement of the result, candidates have to appear for the counseling process. The counseling process will be started in the month of April 2018.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a mandatory requirement for seeking admission or financial assistance to master’s program and direct Doctoral program in Engineering and Technology or Architecture and Doctoral program in relevant branches of sciences in the institutions supported by the MHRD and other governmental agencies. Even in some colleges and institutions, which admit students without MHRD scholarship/assistantship, the GATE qualification is mandatory.

GATE exam is held by Indian Institutes of Science (IISc) Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development. Apart from its academic use, the GATE 2018 scores are also mandatory for job applications in several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
